Swansea City boss Vitor Matos and Wolves' Cesar Peixoto are on the radar of Sporting CP if the Portuguese giants decide to sack current boss Rui Borges. Even though the 45-year-old has brought success to the Lisbon outfit, having won the league and cup in 2024/25, as well as reaching the Champions League knockout stages last season, the current campaign has been difficult.

Sporting CP are currently third in Primeira Liga, six points behind leaders Porto, and they also trail rivals Benfica, despite having played a game more than the pair. As well as that, they suffered a shock home defeat to LASK in the Champions League.

Sporting CP identify Vitor Matos and Cesar Peixoto as potential Rui Borges replacements Therefore, A Bola has revealed that Borges is under increasing pressure at SCP, and the 2-0 win against struggling Casa Pia on Friday night won't have been enough to ease any doubts. So, the club are already considering potential replacements, andthe update claimsthat Swansea's Matos is one of five names they could target.

Matos has done a fine job with the Swans, building a stylish team that adopts a possession-based approach, and they will fancy their chances of winning promotion this season. Meanwhile, Peixoto has a good reputation in Portugal after the impressive work he did with Gil Vicente last season, which saw him land the Wolves job.

Whilst they are in a decent position at this early stage, Peixoto hasn't exactly won over the Wolves fans just yet, who are unhappy with the way the team are playing. Thereport addsthat Abel Ferreira, Leonardo Jardim and Paulo Fonseca are the other names that Sporting CP are tracking.

The trio are all currently in work with Palmeiras, Flamengo and Lyon respectively, so it wouldn't be straightforward to prise them away either. Daily EFL Crossword 0:00 Swansea and Wolves may have different reactions to Sporting CP managerial developments Firstly, it should be said that there's no indication that Borges will lose his job imminently, but Sporting CP's game against Shakhtar in the Champions League this weekend could be huge for him.

Nevertheless, until he is sacked, it's nothing that is going to particularly worry key figures at Swansea or Wolves, but it would be a very attractive vacancy if it does become available, so you would understand if it appealed to Matos or Peixoto. Who will finish higher out of Swansea and Wolves?
