Theo Walcott says one thing could stop Arsenal from winning the Premier League

Ben Fleming reporter PublishedOctober 3, 2026 7:22pm UpdatedOctober 3, 2026 7:22pm Former Arsenal forward Theo Walcott (Picture: BBC) Theo Walcott believes Arsenal are still an 'exceptional' side but believes the defending Premier League champions do have one vulnerability. After a busy summer of spending, Mikel Arteta 's side made an impressive start to the season with four wins from their first four league games.
But the Gunners' early-season momentum was brought to a crashing halt before the international break after they were comfortably beaten 3-0 by Brighton at the Amex. Arsenal remain just three points behind leaders Manchester City, but Walcott suggested his former side must improve their away form if they are to successfully defend their title this season.
'They remain a little vulnerable away from home,' Walcott said on talkSPORT Drive. 'I like Tzolis, but from what I've seen away from home, I haven't been as impressed.
'It's difficult to really shine away from home. You can have those players that are great at home or great at training, but can't [do it] away when it really matters.
' But despite those fears, Walcott believes Arsenal still have more than enough quality to win more silverware this season. Ask Metro Use AI to go deeper into the stories you care about - powered by Metro and trusted publications.
'I think they are exceptional and I do feel they've got everything to retain it,' Walcott added. 'But it's not going to be easy, because they'll want to win the Champions League.
