Tottenham have three big advantages over Crystal Palace ahead of Premier League clash

Tottenham Hotspur will look to make it three Premier League wins in a row when they host Crystal Palace this weekend, and Roberto De Zerbi has three big reasons to believe his side can get the job done. Home advantage might finally mean something for Tottenham Credit where it is due: whether home or away, Tottenham supporters have continued to create an incredible atmosphere for a team that has let them down far too many times in recent months.
The fans have done their bit. It is about time the players gave them something to celebrate regularly.
The numbers make for grim reading. Looking at the home form of clubs that have remained in the Premier League since the 2024/25 season, Tottenham have recorded the fewest wins (10 out of 42 games), collected the fewest points (40) and conceded the most goals (72) of any side.
Even when we narrow the sample down to the 2026 calendar year, Spurs have managed just two Premier League home victories. The first came on the final day of last season, when a1-0 win over Evertonhelped them survive relegation by just two points.
The second, rather encouragingly, came in their most recent home game: a3-1 victory over Coventry City. That night offered a rare collection of feel-good moments, from James Maddison's stunning opener inside 15 minutes to Dejan Kulusevski making his first appearance in 526 days.
And in a very long time, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is a good place to return to. MORE SPURS STORIES Moreover, out of the four games Pierre Sage's men have played at away turfs this season, they've managed to win only once, a 2-3 win over Fulham earlier last month.
Tottenham have four more days to prepare than Crystal Palace Getting knocked out of the Carabao Cup is not usually something to celebrate, but Tottenham can at least take one positive from theirthird-round exit against Liverpool last month: fewer midweek fixtures to worry about. Spurs now have no domestic cup commitments this week or even for the rest of the year for that matter, giving them six days to recover and prepare between their victory over Chelsea and the visit of Crystal Palace.
The visitors, on the other hand, have a rather less relaxing schedule. Palace reached the fourth round after beating Middlesbrough 3-0 last month, and their next cup fixture against Fulham is scheduled for Wednesday night.
That leaves them just two days to recover before another trip across London, this time to the north. Manager Pierre Sage will understandably want to progress as far as possible in the cup competitions, which could tempt him to field a strong side at Craven Cottage.
