Tottenham make Conor Gallagher transfer stance clear amid Premier League interest

Roberto De Zerbi reportedly has no intention of allowing Conor Gallagher to leave Tottenham Hotspur in January, despite growing interest in the midfielder from several Premier League clubs. Crystal Palace have become the latest side linked with a move for the 26-year-old, who has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter under Roberto De Zerbi this season.

Everton and Leeds United are also believed to be keeping an eye on his situation ahead of the winter transfer window. However, the latest reports suggest that Tottenham have little appetite to sell Gallagher, with De Zerbi still regarding the England international as an important member of his squad.

The report, published on 8 November, claims the Spurs boss values Gallagher's versatility, work rate and commitment, despite the midfielder finding himself behind other players in the pecking order. The Italian is said to believe the former Chelsea man still has an important role to play in his plans.

Gallagher only joined Tottenham from Atletico Madrid in January 2026, with Spurs paying a reported £34.6m to bring him back to the Premier League. He remains under contract until 2031, meaning the North London club are under no immediate pressure to consider a sale.

O'Rourke suggested on Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast that Gallagher's involvement under De Zerbi makes a January departure unlikely. He also pointed towards the midfielder's versatility and commitment as reasons why Tottenham would be reluctant to lose him.

MORE SPURS STORIES That does not mean Gallagher is guaranteed more starts over the coming weeks, but the latest claims indicate that Spurs have no immediate intention of making him available. Tottenham have not publicly confirmed a decision on his future.

Crystal Palace, Everton and Leeds interested in Tottenham midfielder The latest update follows a separate Football Insider report on 6 November, which claimed Crystal Palace were interested in bringing Gallagher back to Selhurst Park. Gallagher spent the 2021/22 season on loan at Palace from Chelsea, establishing himself as a key player under Patrick Vieira.

His performances earned him considerable praise from the Eagles' supporters, and the South London club have reportedly retained an interest in re-signing him ever since. Football Insider journalist Callum O'Connell explained on the outlet's Transfer Insider podcast that Palace remain long-standing admirers of Gallagher.

He also named Leeds and Everton among the clubs who could be interested if Tottenham decide to make the midfielder available. Palace were reportedly keen on signing Gallagher from Atletico Madrid before he completed his move to Spurs earlier this year.
