Trent Alexander-Arnold linked with shock move to Liverpool's Premier League rivals

It hasn't been smooth sailing for Trent Alexander-Arnold since leaving Liverpool for Real Madrid last summer. He was in and out of the team under Xabi Alonso and also struggled with injuries last season.
Now, under Jose Mourinho, he is out of favour as the likes of Denzel Dumfries and Fede Valverde are preferred to him at right back. And now, if reports from England are to be believed, he has emerged as a shock target for Chelsea.
Ex-Liverpool man Trent Alexander-Arnold linked with Chelsea Simon Phillips reports that Chelsea are one of the clubs keeping tabs on him as he continues to struggle for game time in Spain. The former Liverpool defender already ruined his relationship with the Anfield faithful by rejecting a contract offer from the club in favour of securing a free transfer to Real Madrid.
🚨 Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso is keen to reunite with Trent Alexander-Arnold and is interested in bringing the Real Madrid right-back to Stamford Bridge. However, Chelsea could face competition from Liverpool, who are also interested in re-signing their former defender.
Alexander-Arnold won two Premier League titles with Liverpool, so it would be a bitter blow for Reds across the world to watch him turn out for Chelsea. However, Blues boss Alonso knows him quite well, having worked with him at Real Madrid last season.
And if he decides to make a move for him, it would be interesting to see if Alexander-Arnold's connection with Liverpool plays any part in his decision-making.
