Van Hecke, De Zerbi nominated for Premier League October awards

It's Premier League Monthly Award Nomination Season again, and Tottenham are once again represented. Spurs defender Jan Paul van Hecke has been nominated for the league's Player of the Month award, one of six players tapped for the award.

It might be a bit of an uphill climb for Janny (is he called Janny? Let's just go with Janny for now) as he faces a pretty stacked field this time around.

I can also acutely sense the wince coming from corners of the Tottenham Hotspur-o-sphere when seeing Luka Vuskovic's name down there in the bottom right corner for the first time, but that ship has sailed, it's time to move on. Elsewhere, Roberto De Zerbi has picked up his first Manager of the Month nomination.

De Zerbi is nominated after leading Spurs to three consecutive wins in October, including the 2-0 away win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, a loss that should also be disqualifying for Xabi Alonso (who is also nominated). Honestly, my opinion is De Zerbi should be given Manager of the Year already for that win, but I'm biased.

I also got a post-Halloween jump-scare after seeing the photo of Villa manager and Business-Casual Dracula Unai Emery in the bottom row. And if we're going to be completionist, two more Spurs players picked up nominations for Goal of the Month in October - James Maddison for his banger against Coventry City, and Mathys Tel for his low goal in the bottom corner against Chelsea.

Anyway, you can vote for your favorite Tottenham Hotspur nominee if you want at the Premier League's website.
