Villa held as Kitara claim first win - Uganda Premier League - Official Website

SC Villa missed the opportunity to go top of the Startimes Uganda Premier League after being held to a 1-1 draw by Kataka in Bukedea as the competition resumed following the international break. Ali Sentamu put Kataka ahead in the 52nd minute before Najib Yiga equalised from the penalty spot for Villa in the 68th.
The draw leaves Villa unbeaten on 11 points, one behind leaders BUL, who have played a game fewer. Kitara, meanwhile, recorded their first victory of the season with a 1-0 win over Kigezi Homeboys.
Edward Namaasa scored the only goal in the 26th minute, his effort taking a heavy deflection after a Gaddafi Wahab corner. The victory lifts Kitara to five points from three games, while Kigezi remain without a win and drop to the bottom of the table with one point from four matches.
Newly promoted Ntugasaze also collected their first points of the campaign with a 1-0 victory over Mbarara City at the Kira Road Police Arena. Jacob Opar headed in James Tekakwo's cross in the 29th minute to settle the contest.
Mbarara's Ambrose Arinda was sent off in the 78th minute as Ntugasaze held on to move to 15th, two places above Mbarara, who remain on two points. Maroons produced the day's biggest win, beating Lugazi 3-0 at Wankulukuku.
Fred Amaku opened the scoring in the 57th minute before Dickson Niwamanya doubled the advantage in the 75th. Mujahid Ogama added a third three minutes later.
Lugazi's Francis Onekalit was shown a red card in the 82nd minute as Maroons moved to seventh on six points, level with Lugazi.
